3-dimensional vertebral column measurement

The three-dimensional vertebral column measurement is a new examination method, which can be used without x-ray exposure for initial diagnosis and for progression control in spine problems, e.g. Scoliosis (spinal curvatures) and maladjustments.


The optical measuring method detects the position and shape of the spine in 0.04 seconds without radiation and is a combination of modern video technology and data processing.


The skeleton and body outlines are measured with a light grid. Radiographs are in many cases unnecessary. The device combines a balance, a projector, a video camera and a computer. The projector draws a parallel line raster on the patient's back and shows the existing distortions. The scale registers the load differences.


During the measurement, the physician can perform an exact adjustment of the leg length. The optimal correction is simulated on a variable platform. Deviations from the solder, deformation of the vertebral column and rotations of the individual vertebral bodies can be clearly defined.


The 3D-image is captured by the camera, fed into the computer and immediately evaluated. The physician can directly compare old and new examination results. In addition, an objective success check, e.g. after chirotherapeutic treatment.

Since it is a gentle diagnostic method, created by light grid, the treatment has no side effects. Children with spinal column damage do not have to be exposed to frequent radiographs (for example, to follow-up). An accurate follow-up to the differentiated therapy planning for back pain is possible.
